Elections & Government

I love covering elections and local government because I believe one of journalism’s most important roles in a democracy is to inform the citizens about their representatives. At VTDigger, I had the chance to cover Burlington for the 2020 spring election cycle including working collaboratively to build a city council voter guide and reporting live from around the city on election day, with follow up analysis afterward. At previous jobs in Vermont, I also covered the actions of local representatives at the Statehouse and analyzed the increase in student voting rates.
